Terms of Use
Please read these terms before you use this site; by browsing it, you agree to them.
Sponsor's licencesWhat am I actually reading here?
You are reading an independent editorial resource. We write reviews and guides about a broker, OctaFX, for readers in South Africa. That is all we do. We are not the broker, we are not connected to the broker, and we do not open accounts, take deposits, place trades or hold anyone's money. Nothing on this site is a financial service, and we do not act as your adviser or intermediary in any way.
Our purpose is to help you understand a product before you make your own decision. We gather information, read the public terms the broker publishes, and put our impressions in plain language. We may be wrong about details, and details change. Before you act on anything you read here, check it against the broker's own current documents and, where it matters to you, take advice from someone qualified to give it.
We are not regulated, licensed or endorsed by any authority, and we do not claim to be. We are an editorial site, not a financial institution.
Can anyone use this site, and from where?
This site is meant for adults who are looking for general information. You should be at least 18 years old, and old enough under the law where you live, to make your own financial decisions. If you are not, please do not use the site.
You are welcome to read from South Africa or anywhere else, but we write with South African readers in mind. We cannot promise that what we describe fits the rules, taxes or products available where you are. If you are elsewhere, it is your job to check what applies to you.
Use the site as a reader: read, quote briefly with credit, link to us. Do not copy large parts of our work, scrape it, resell it, or use it to build something misleading. Do not try to break the site, overload it, or use it for anything unlawful. If you have a question about permission, use the contact form on this site.
How much should I rely on what is written here?
This is general information, not personalised advice. We do not know your income, your debts, your goals, your experience or how much risk you can carry, and we have not assessed any of it. Nothing here is a recommendation that a particular product suits you. If you want advice about your own situation, speak to a licensed adviser who can look at your full picture. We are not that adviser.
We try to keep things accurate and current, but we do not promise that everything is complete, correct or up to date at the moment you read it. Markets, fees and terms move; our pages may lag behind. The site is provided as it is, and you use it at your own risk.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage you suffer because you relied on this site. That includes money lost in trading, missed opportunities, or decisions made after reading a page here. Where the law does not allow us to exclude liability entirely, our responsibility is limited to the smallest amount the law permits. Your own decisions, and their results, remain yours.
What happens if these terms change, or one part does not hold up?
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when the site changes or when the law requires it. The version published on this page is the one that applies. We will show the date of the latest update at the top of the page, and we encourage you to glance at it when you return. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable or invalid, that part will be treated as removed, and the rest of the terms stay in force exactly as written. The remaining terms continue to bind you and us, and the unenforceable part will be read as closely as possible to what it was meant to say, to the extent the law allows.
These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about using this site, and they replace anything said earlier. If you have a question about them, the contact form on this site is the way to reach us.
